Wellington Square

English name:  Wellington Square.
The Duke of Wellington (Arthur Wellesley, 1769-1852), defeated Napolean at Waterloo and was responsible for Colonel Light’s appointment as the first Surveyor-General of South Australia.

Kaurna name: Kudnartu
Kudnartu (also known as Kudnarto) from the Clare district) was the first Kaurna woman to marry a British settler, Tom Adams.

Features: rose garden beds, pedestrian and cycling paths, and many trees including a jacaranda that flowers in November

Wellington Square is at the junction of Jeffcott Street, Molesworth Street and Tynte Street North Adelaide
