Tree Climb lease renewal?

Pic: Shane Sody

The Tree Climb adventure course in Blue Gum Park / Kurangga (Park 20) is seeking to renew its lease. Its initial eight-year lease is due to expire in January 2026. Normally any lessees in your Park Lands are required to complete an Expression of Interest process if they want to continue a lease; so the Council can ascertain if there are any others who might want to lease the same sites.

At a meeting on 30 October, Kadaltilla/ the Park Lands Authority considered whether to exempt Tree Climb from the Expression of Interest process. That item on its agenda was declared confidential so no decision has been made public.

Aquatic centre to open in late January

Repeating a past mistake. Once again, building on your Park Lands, restricting an “Open, Green, Public” space

The State Government has announced that its new $135 million Adelaide Aquatic Centre, in Denise Norton Park / Pardipardinyilla (Park 2) will be open by 27 January, after the school holidays, but just before the State election due in March.

The ABC’s roving reporter, Troy Sincock observed today that “there seems to be a lot of work still to be done”. https://www.abc.net.au/listen/programs/adelaide-breakfast/aquatic-centre-date/106017006
