More than 4,000 tonnes of sand is being delivered to your Park Lands to create playing courts for the world beach volleyball championships.
The sand courts have temporarily transformed Pinky Flat and an area of the Memorial Drive tennis complex, both within Tarntanya Wama (Park 26 of your Park Lands).
The beach volleyball world championships are being held here on your Park Lands from 14 to 23 November.
Unfortunately, most of the media coverage fails to acknowledge that these sites are part of your Park Lands. Most news coverage incorrectly refers to the championships being held "in the CBD".
A pool of 196 players, representing 50 countries, will compete in your Park Lands.
