Please do NOT come to our planned volunteer action workshop on 9 December, unless you are ready and willing to work!
The Adelaide Park Lands Association is pleased to have many thousands of social media followers, newsletter subscribers and passive members.
We love it when well-wishers come up with suggestions about what we could, or should, or might do, to better protect your Park Lands.
But we love it even more when these suggestions are matched with an offer to do some or part of the work involved.
A workshop at the Box Factory Community Centre next week will outline the various ways you can assist APA’s mission to PROTECT your Park Lands.
What do we need?
We need writers, photographers, social media content creators, letter boxers, sign-holders and tour guides.
If you can commit to play an active role over coming months, then please consider the “Save Your Park Lands; Save Your City Workshop”.
When: Tuesday 9 December, 6pm to 8.30pm
Where: Hurtle Room, Box Factory Community Centre, Regent Street South, Adelaide.

At the Humanitix booking page, you can also express your interest in attending a possible future session, on another date.
However, if you don’t have the time or energy to commit to action, then please continue as one of our “lurkers”.
Lurkers and contributors
There is a rule of thumb associated with voluntary organisations, such as APA. It's called the “one per cent” rule.
We are glad to have thousands of “lurkers” but in the leadup to the March 2026 State election we are looking for “contributors” and hopefully a few active and committed “creators”.
Approximately 90% of people interested in any voluntary group are “lurkers”. They are sympathetic, but they're not going to do much about it. Roughly nine per cent are occasional contributors and only one percent are the doers, the regular and active workhorses of the organisation, the creators who ensure that things get done.
When your Open, Green, Public Adelaide Park Lands are under attack as never before, what’s your role going to be?
