What you're telling the Government

It seems that State Government Ministers might be slow learners.

Despite facing a determined crowd of Park Lands supporters who in 2023, successfully defended one Park from a Government attack; it seems that the State Government needs a fresh reminder about how many people value and love your Park Lands.

A crowd of five hundred came to the Rally for Adelaide’s Heart on 6 July:

Our petition, Protect Possum Park, Pete has surpassed 2,700 signatures and is growing rapidly:

We’ve now launched a simple two-minute opinion poll, to measure the public reaction. Have your say, here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/68BB867

We’ve started a Facebook group; the Possum Park Protection Platoon, where you can keep up to date with planned actions;

The Platoon, and other volunteers, will be active on the North Adelaide golf courses on Sunday 27 July, working in pairs to affix messages onto massive old trunks, to Protect Possum Park Trees. Register your attendance here: https://events.humanitix.com/protect-possum-park-trees

Come along on Sunday 27 July working in pairs to Protect Possum Park trees.

Just a reminder: this is the area (below) that the State Government is about to take over, with powers to build anything at all. Its legislation over-rides all planning laws.

Government-issued map of the approximately 86-hectare area about to be seized for golf course “re-development”. The area contains in excess of 9,000 trees.

The only consultation required under the Government’s North Adelaide Public Golf Course Act 2025 is in relation to Aboriginal heritage. The Government is purporting to consult the Kaurna community, but is insisting upon responses by 31 July, even though the Government has not identified which parts of this area would be excavated.
