An alternative vision

by Robert Farnan

The Save Festival Plaza Alliance has released an alternative vision of how Adelaide’s first skyscraper could be located within the CBD rather than on public Park Lands.

The Walker Corporation has been granted a one-dollar-per-year, 100-year lease over the public space of your Festival Plaza, within Park 26 of your Park Lands.

Work began on the Walker Corporation’s proposed 38-storey tower, Adelaide’s biggest:

The Festival, Not Writers' Week, Womad and the Fringe have come and gone.

Thank you, if you were in the almost 60 who helped out, and were patient in helping us through the early stages of getting an organisational framework established for the Save Festival Plaza Alliance.

During the Festival season, the Save Festival Plaza Alliance gave out over 3,000 fliers, and from our observations had fewer than ten people - in total-  who objected to our message - an extraordinarily low number.

There is no real support for this build - outside of Parliament, and The Advertiser. There was huge support for our point of view, and we were continually thanked for our efforts. There is widespread outrage and disbelief.

A huge request, if you have not, please befriend us on either Instagram and/or Facebook:

If you have not done so, please look at the website - “Save Festival Plaza - relocate Tower Two.”

Contact us here: Savefestivalplaza@gmail.com

And a special thank you for your support in the face of a process which is clearly strategised by government to make it look like a done deal!

We are working hard behind the scenes, watch this space!
