The ‘Save Festival Plaza Alliance’ is planning its next move, after a rally at Parliament House in July and a full-page newspaper advertisement in August.
The campaign to save the Open, Public space of your Festival Plaza in Park 26 attracted hundreds of supporters to the “Rally for Adelaide’s Heart” on Sunday 6 July.
That was followed up with a crowd-sourced advertisement, an Open Letter to the Premier, published as a full-page advertisement in The Advertiser on Tuesday 26 August.
Among the more than 600 signatories were several former Labor Government Ministers, including former Premier Rev Dr Lynn Arnold AO, Kym Mayes, Anne Levy AO, Steph Key and Peter Duncan; many academics, community leaders, former media personalities and artists, as well as dozens of others who’ve been recognised with Australian Honours and Awards.

The Convenor of the “Save Festival Plaza Alliance” Robert Farnan says the next step will be a community forum on a date to be announced.
