Every day, there are stories about your Park Lands just waiting to be told.
These stories just need a little help (your help!) to emerge; to be shared with our thousands of readers and viewers.
How will you tell those stories? If you Love Your Park Lands, and are willing to volunteer a few hours once per month, then we’ll help you to share that love, and train you to develop your skills for:
reporting/journalism;
nature blogging;
photography,
videography; or
social media moderation.
We’ll train you as part of our small volunteer team of Communicators and Storytellers. With our encouragement and personalised coaching, you might, perhaps, try profiling, in words and imagery:
a friend, colleague, or acquaintance, who loves visiting your Park Lands; or
an aspect of the biodiversity of your Park Lands, zeroing in on one of the myriad species of plants, animals, insects, or fungi; or
an historical or heritage feature, or public artwork within your Park Lands; or
one of the many community or sporting groups who enjoy activities in your Park Lands; or
the political skulduggery that threatens your Park Lands.
Alternatively, if you already have experience in journalism, blogging or sub-editing, you might help to edit or manage our blog, newsletter or social media feeds.
If you’d like to find out more, then book a free ticket to our no-obligation “Communicators and Storytellers” information session.
The session will be led by APA’s main blogger, national award-winning journalist and former current affairs commentator, (now Acting APA Secretary) Shane Sody.
