State Election 2026 - Vote for your Park Lands
If you love your Park Lands, how can you vote for them? See our recommendations below.
In February 2026, we contacted each political party contesting the State election, and selected independent candidates for the State-wide Legislative Council election, with six open-ended questions. We also asked you, our members and supporters to pose the same questions to your local candidates.
We received responses from most political parties. However, several parties (One Nation, SA Best, United Voice, Legalise Cannabis, National Party, and Family First) did not respond to our candidate survey and so have not been included in our how-to-vote recommendations.
APA’s Committee met on Thursday 5 March to evaluate the responses, and score them on their responses to our six questions on a scale of 1 to 10 for each question, which would equate to a maximum possible score of 60.
These scores led to the recommendations below, on how to "vote for your Park Lands". We suggest, vote for your Park Lands in this order:
How did we arrive at these scores?

What about YOUR electorate?
It is beyond APA’s capacity to produce how-to-vote guides for all 47 State electorates.
However we have produced a how-to-vote guide for the electorate of Adelaide, the location of your Adelaide Park Lands. (See below).
If you are voting in any other electorate, use the Guide above to compare the parties, and some of the State-wide Legislative Council candidates.
Please also consider any independent candidate who might be standing for election in your area, who has responded favourably to you, on the questions we’ve recommended that you ask about your Adelaide Park Lands.
How did we arrive at these scores?
Keiran Snape is rated #1 due to his consistent advocacy for your Adelaide Park Lands over several recent years, and his answers to our survey questions. (Click on this bolded text to see his responses).
The next three candidates, ranked 2nd, 3rd & 4th, reflect the scores of their respective parties as outlined above.
Candidates ranked 5th and 6th each represent parties that failed to respond to our Park Lands questions.
In the final days of the State election campaign, help us blanket social media with this message: How to Vote for your Park Lands.
With your help, we can reach hundreds of thousands of South Australians and make a difference in one or more close electorates.
Some of the parties delivered responses which included comment that was irrelevant to our questions. In our evaluations we have quoted only the portion of each response that was relevant to the question. Nevertheless, you can read each party’s full responses at the links below:

What about independent candidates and other MINOR PARTIEs?
We did not attempt to survey independent candidates for the House of Assembly, other than the one independent candidate in the electorate of Adelaide, Keiran Snape.
Accordingly, in any other House of Assembly electorate where there is one or more independent candidates, please ask each independent candidate to respond to the same open-ended questions.
Several parties (One Nation, SA Best, United Voice, Legalise Cannabis, National Party, and Family First) did not respond to our candidate survey and so have not been included in our how-to-vote recommendations.
