Your impact spreading

by Shane Sody

In the final days of the State election campaign, our call to ‘Vote For Your Park Lands’ is having a measurable impact.

Donations from our supporters, and hundreds of people sharing our message have enabled us to maximise the numbers who’ve seen our how-to-vote recommendations.

Social media posts attract most attention when they are in the form of brief videos. Therefore, we have published three brief videos on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, and Bluesky, where we know they’ve been seen by tens of thousands of people.

This one has had the most impact, and attracted the most “shares”. By 16 March (after only five days) this 19-second video had been seen by more than 55,000 Adelaide people (on Facebook and Instagram alone) leading to more than 2,400 views of our web page: “How to Vote for your Park Lands

In the final few days of the State election campaign, you can help the message spread further with a simple donation.

This second 16-second video (not quite as popular) had amassed more than 5,000 views from Adelaide people, in its first four days on line:

This third video had amassed more than 13,000 views from Adelaide people, in its first six days on line:

Why are we doing this?

Our strategic plan relies upon a simple axiom: that your Park Lands will be protected only when a sufficient number of people demand that they’re protected.

The current State Government has shown by its actions and its poor responses to our Park Lands questions, that it does not regard your Park Lands as worthy of protection.

It has not resiled from looming Park Lands attacks for elite FIFO sports events; and it’s promising NO legislation or other initiatives to prioritise Open, Green, Public spaces.

The more people who Vote for Your Park Lands, the more likely it will be that after the election, the State Government might consider a change of attitude towards protecting your world-unique Adelaide Park Lands.

If your attention span is longer than 19 seconds…..

…then this video (two and a half minutes) tells the story a bit better!
